Canine Partners for Life "On Demand"

Greetings Fellow Winos,

Since many of you contributed to the Canine Partners for Life Wine Auction, I thought that I would share this information with you about the organization. We received this email from CPL.

I will keep you informed of how your contributions of wine made a difference.

Wine On.

Paul

Hello!

Good News! There are five segments about CPL currently running on Comcast on Demand all over the country! I do not have access to Comcast, but I have heard from a few donors that the segments are great. I have asked Comcast for hard copies of the segments, but I am not sure that will happen. The five segments are running concurrently and you can watch one or all five. Of course, you must realize that they filmed these segments over many, many hours of film and then cut them down to five minutes each. Sometimes they take things that we say out of context, but other than the fact they call us Canines for Life, the pieces are reported to be really good.

If you or a family member has Comcast HD or an upgraded Comcast network, they need to go to :

Press On Demand on remote control or on the TV or go to the Comcast station (everyone's setup is different)
Press ON DEMAND
Got to TOPICS
(we are on the second page)
Go to LIFE AND HOME
Go to PETS
Go to WORKING DOGS - All five segments should be there.

One is a composite of all the segments and recipients, one is of Timmy and "Boola" on Autism, one is Independent Living with Bruce and "Livy", one is Allison and "Tasha" for seizure alert (they call tasha a seizure sensor dog!) and the last one is of the CPL Kennel and how we go about training the CPL dogs.

I hope you can access these wonderful pieces. They will be on 24 hours a day until May 1st.

Owner and Winemaker Trey Busch from Sleight of Hand was the star of the night on March 20th. The setting was Chester Valley Country Club and our host was Jonathan. Trey and Jonathan along with wine contributions from the Mark Ryan Winery made the evening a huge success. Oh, and did I mention the food. Outrageous and never ending! Desert wine was supplied by none other than our own Wine Pope Healy. The amazing thing was Trey made his way from Washington State just for us. And this was his second time! God we must be fun...or is Washington state a little on the quiet side? Who knows. We are lucky to have him. The other cool thing is we had just shy of 30 guys attend this tasting. Some new blood got introduced to the WineauxU way. Now I keep getting calls from them asking if they can be a WineauxU member. No f____ing way! We are exclusive and ultra-snobby. But, if we need someone to help defray our costs, maybe we will let one of the leeches partake.

Here was the line up of wines. Hopefully correctly listed in the order we drank them.

1. Viognier 2007 (Mark Ryan)

2. Enchantress Chardonay (Sleight of Hand) Just out of the barrel and not even labeled, yet.

3. Syrah 2005 Columbia Valley (Dunham Cellars)

4. Trust Syrah 2006 (Trust Cellars)

5. 2006 Syrah Walla Walla Columbia Valley (Va Piano Vineyards)

6. Syrah 2006 Walla Walla Valley( Syzygy)

7. Levitation Syrah 2007 (Sleight of Hand)

8. Cayuse ????

9. Ruckus Syrah 2006 (Sparkman Cellars)

10. Long Haul (or Crazy Mary Mourvedre) 2007 (Mark Ryan)

11. Archimage NV (Seight of Hand)

Then there was course after course of endless wonderful food that paired superbly with the wines listed above. Thanks goes to my friend Andy Logan for keeping the order of wines straight in his notes. It wasn't easy not having The Pope's tasting sheets. I was going to use Hank's notes because I saw him writing frantically all night long but he informed me that he thought his notes was another course of food and ate them. What a savage!
